KIA Sorento - First service - Will Marshall

in a couple of weeks at local dealer, how will I know if they've checked everything properly? It's a very small town so hopefully they are trading on a good reputation.

Anything else I should look too, aside from what is covered in service? It's a diesel automatic with 9k on the clock.

First service on one of these is probably just an oil and filter change and check lights and levels, and if you are lucky the tyre pressures also.hth

Thanks, in that case what else should I look out for or have checked, or do you just keep going in newish vehicles?

If its a very small town then you shouldn't have to worry too much as reputation is everything. Ask all the people who have bought from there to see what they say, you cant be the only customer! Hope you have only had it for a few months as 9000 miles in a year is not enough to warrant a diesel without problems in the future. Don't rely on them having checked things like tyre pressures as the seemingly small things are often overlooked in a busy main dealers workshop.

I have a Hyundai Santa Fe diesel auto (basically same car as yours) and was quoted £345 by my local dealer for the first service (20k miles or 12 months - mine was 10 months) but I had purchased a 5 year service plan for £1,100. On a Hyundai owners website people report paying £200 upwards for what is just an oil and filter change and an inspection - I had tyre wear and pressure check and computer scan ( all clear).
