Mitsubishi Shogun V6 Petrol Automatic - Engine is Hnting - John P

My Shogun has started hunting at 40 mph - up to 40 it's fine - over 40 it's also fine - my local mechanic has tried a fuel additive but no change - any ideas ?

Normally hunting is caused by a weak mixture, normally an air leak and it could be tiny air leak.

You dont say what year it is as oxy sensors can also make them hunt around when driving light footed.

I would suggest you find a diagnostic tech with exhaust measuing equipment and diagnostic gear.

throttle bodies can also be problomatic on shoguns but I would concentrate on tiny air leak first.
