Skoda Fabia 1.2 70 HP engine - Electrical fault - olmo

2.5 year old Fabia.

Following faults were experienced upon start-up, the window vipers went to top position and appeared locked. Upon switching on-off they were brought down to normal position.

Subsequently, the Hazard lights came on and could not be switched off, followed by total loss of central locking, windows, indicators and brake lights, No reasonable / logical check / attempts to rectify achieved anything.

Upon my examiantion i found that the fuses allocated to the antitheft alarm were not provided.

I called RAC and the service man could not find anything on the diagnostic system, he went through all fuses and connection and still coul not find anything, but the fault is still present. only way to eleiminate it was to disconnect the battery. Am now awaiting transport to garage.

Has anybody experienced a similar scenario? Any idea about the cause? (I suspect the PCB in the car is a ault.

Hi, Has this fault affected the engine from starting? As with all modern cars the electronics are getting more and more complex. When my father bought his Fabia which is about the same age as yours the dealer explained that some settings can be changed eg. if you don't want the doors to lock automatically when you drive over 5mph etc so your fault could be a gremlin in the cars PCB as you suspect.

Could be worth getting your Skoda main dealer to check it as sometimes a software upgrade can clear the faults. You should be still under guarantee if 2.5 years old.

Hope you manage to get it fixed!
