Ford Fiesta - 08 1.4 TDCI Fiesta, drivetrain warning light+limp - Snap off

Hi guys, quick one.

I have a 08 fiesta here, showing a drivetrain warning light, and in limp mode. 5sp Manual.

Ecu shows no faults, and indeed logs a fault if i disconnect a random plug( map/maf/tps etc)

Engine off+restart it goes away for 15 ish seconds, but comes back on even at idle.

Any ideas? there's no gearbox sensors other than the reverse switch.

I'm well aware of the turbo issues with this model - shaft has very little endfloat, and spins up well. Not had the chance to see how hard the boost pipe gets on load yet, need another pair of hands for that !

A normal code reader will only access the engine control unit.

First thing I would do is check the oil at the fill to spill level on the side of the gearbox normally bout half way up.

Second is connections has it not got traction contol ESP if a drivetrain light is on it needs got to a garage who have dealer level diagnostics or a mobile mechanic.
