The car is 3 yrs old. If the pads are not USED they will corrode.

After the change from asbestos brake pads, some years ago now, the steel in the discs had to change with the new pad material. Hence disposable discs.....

Technology,...not always better but always more expensive when it comes to cars.

Computers however just keep getting cheaper.,,,,

I have a 2009 RAV4 diesel and started to get a little brake judder. My dealer says that I have corroded discs and need pads and discs all round. Cost knocking £500

It is your money, but get a quote from national tyres and halfords autocentres. halfords will give you a lifetime warranty on the brakes, just make sure you get a proper receipt. Or ask your local indie. For the wear thats not bad on a quite heavy car. check mr clutch online fixed prices too.
