Car - Insurance - dindins

I got a new car at weekend and I phoned the company before on the Friday but I have opened the paper work today and it says policy only starts next month I have contacted them and they have sorted it now. If the police have checked my car which there was a police van at the side of the road today just my luck will I get points or would the van check not check it. And would I have any come back with the police

This was not my mistake and I have put it right as soon as I have seen something wrong

HELP ...

My understanding is that stops for insurance usually work with coppers down the road or on bikes and bookings/investigations undertaken there and then. Too many loophoes otherwise not least with 'driving other vehicles' extensions.

Hopefully, the insurance company will have a recording of your 'phone call to confirm when you asked for the cover to commence?

You were not stopped or asked by Police to produce cover for use of vehicle so stop worrying.
