parking fine - nurse

12/6/12 I parked opposite my home in until last night an unresticted area at 19.00.At 20.00 I returned to my car to find parking restiction notices (still wet !) & a parking fine for £100 from TSP,I tried to contact their website-still under construction so I phoned only to encounter an extremely abusive woman who screeched down the phone at me.Can you advise please.

parking fine - Bromptonaut

Need a bit more info.

Parked on the road or on some sort of car park?

Is the 'fine' issued by a contractor on behalf of a landowner or on behalf of the Council?

You say you were opposite your home. Is there any history of conflict over parking with neighbours/landowners?

Is there a link to the under construction website - I can find one for TPS - Total Parking Solutions - but not TSP?

parking fine - concrete

Hello Nurse, if the ticket states PARKING CHARGE NOTICE or CIVIL PARKING CHARGE or similar then it is a private company and should be ignored, no matter what they threaten. If it is a PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE issued by police or local authority then you need either appeal or pay up. Police or local authorities are not known for abusive staff who screech down the telephone at people so my guess is it is the usual money making parking scam. DO NOT RESPOND to any correspondence. If they telephone you ask them to hold on while you turn the gas off, and leave the telephone for 15 minutes, then hang up. They will eventually give up and hound some other poor soul. In the meantime take whatever details you can from the signs and put it on this forum for comment and advice. Good luck and hold your nerve. Cheers Concrete
