Peugeot 206 - Brake Drum Removal Problem - cliff

I'm having a huge problem removing a rear drum.

The shoes are causing the drum to bind a little so something is amiss? I've used a puller without success,

Is there a way to adjust the shoes away from the drum surface?

I'm thinking maybe trying to slacken the handbrake adjuster mechanism through one of the wheel nut holes ... is this the way it is done or is there a trick I'm missing?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the drum has worn and the resultant lip is holding it in place. Time for a new drum and perhaps drastic action to remove the old one. Grinder to cut it off?

Have you removed the other side to take a good look at how the adjuster mechanism works and whether the parts in question are accessable through a wheel bolt hole?

I've always got round the problem by tapping the drum while pulling and rotating it.

I won't deny using a damn great hammer on occasion..........
