There is a detailed and , IMHO, fascinating thread on Cash for Crash insurance frauds, written by a former claim investigator running here;

I think it may be of interest to many Back Roomers, since the details rarely get into the press.

Simply confirms what we already know. He should have added Liverpool to the list though! According to my inside sources the Doctors, Solicitors and Accident Assessors are all in it up to their necks never mind the initial perpetrators. And few have recogniseable surnames...........

Facinating to read, I carry a disposible camera in the car as well as the camera on my mobile telephone ... last time I was involved in an accident (hit from behind in traffic queue) I made sure all vehicles were properly photograghed showing damage and location of event ... I've looked at getting an in car camera system, I'm undecided as it is a double edged tool which could be used against me if ever I was in the wrong.

I wouldnt worry about an incar camera going against you ! dont declare it, mines almost out of site , i would never mention it in the event of an accident untill you have had time to watch footage for yourself.

Mine have been great & sucesfully now had two prosecutions , one foor criminal damage on my wifes car. drunk kicked the car outside a pub ! just a random attack , & few months ago against a driver who carved me up really badly & sent video eveidence off to Licencing authority ! Took about 5 months but had a reply to confirm points had been issued so they work

The scroats that do this make me sick and also the other non-UK based call centre people who call you to get you to try and make fraudulent claims.

Im currently being sued by a driver when my 7.5t lorry rolled backwards into him.I must have rolled 6inches or so and the damage caused to his cars rear door was less than if Id kicked it in!! Unfortunately said driver has decided to claim for everything from whiplash to loss of earnings!I accept I was in the wrong but this I feel is downright fraud.I was rear ended 5 years ago and had no ill affects from it which makes me feel even more aggrieved.

Same here!

I get loads of text messages from such companies! I really don't know how they get my number since I always opt-out of everything!
