Vehicle laid up over Xmas and New Year (3months) unfortunately battery was flat when we went to restart the car, recharged battery and everything was back to normal except the alarm which goes off everytime we lock the vehicle. On checking the manual Mazda suggest that the vehicle be taken to one of their main dealers who for a small sum will reprogramme the Key / Alarm.
On enquiring at my "local" dealer who is 30 odd miles away what this cost would be I was advised that it would be a minimum of £78 + VAT and the service person advised me that she doubted if that would be all it would cost and would more than likely be the ECU that would be found to be at fault which I find hard to believe as the vehicle has only covered 30,000 odd miles and everything else is working perfectly.
Does anyone know how to reprogramme these alarms or do I HAVE to pay out what I feel ,and would be, to my pocket a considerable sum of money?
