Humber Bridge Toll gone for bikes - martint123

If you wander into this part of the world, you will find the Humber Bridge Toll of £1.30 for bikes has been scrubbed as from 1st April - and no, it's not a joke.

Ah, the delights of Lincolnshire's B roads beckons.

Horray, its about time that Bridge and other road tolls for motorbikes were scrapped.

Its such a hassle to have to find loose change or card when wearing bike gear.

Do bikes pay to use M6 toll ?

I moved away from there in 1990, but I used to commute across the bridge every day. It was 50p then, and I had gloves with a little pocket on the back for a waterproof liner, which was ideal for the 50p coin. High winds were the best. Once you a between the pillars, you can ride for nearly a mile resting on the wind, leaning over at 45 degrees. Good that the toll has ended, though. No justification charging for bikes, really. I wonder if they could have a word with the toll bridge operators near where I live now?
