I have read in this weekend's press that for France, headlamps have to be adjusted to the Right. In the old days, you could place beam adjusters over the lenses (where marked out on the lense) to deflect the dipped beam to the right. These days, there are no guide marks on the outer plastic covers where to place deflectors. Are defelecters still valid and if so where do you place them. I have driven in France (and other euro countries) for the last 40 years (lately not using deflectors, but with driving common sense) and have never been questioned. Is this new legislation or just a confused journalist?

I'm resident in France, when we arrived here 3 years ago we used the louvred deflectors called Beam Benders on one vehicle and masked the lights on the other using black tape to lose the dip beam kick-up to the left. I am not aware of any new law for visitors restricting the use of temporary measures. Just use common sense and be certain that your lights don't dazzle oncoming traffic and you should be ok.

BTW I tried the eurolite deflectors previously and found that they were close to useless.
