Can a car be a Cat C write off twice? - scotty33

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has experience of a vehicle which has previously been written off as cat C, then a subsequent accident has again caused it to become a Cat C write off. This has happened to my car, I would like to buy it back off my insurers for repair.

I was told that the dvla will not allow such a car back onto the road i.e it cannot be a cat C twice, is this correct?

It didn't used to belong to Lady Bracknell, did it?

To be written off once may be regarded as a misfortune. To be written off twice looks like carelessness.

fwiw, the first was a young driver enthusiastically following his mate's car, he attempted to give way to me but skidded on gravel into my path.

The second was a taxi driver who failed to realise that you need to give way to traffic proceeding around a roundabout. I saw him approaching the roundabout, his road positioning was so bad, I did not for one minute think he could possibly be turning right from the left lane.
