just to update i have spoken to a carb specialist and the zenith its running is a alternative to the solex and on closer inspection the carb does look quite new so i have removed the k&n type filter and managed to connect the original air box the problem i have now is ive managed to get the engine to idle but it is very lumpy and also when the engine gets upto tempreture it starts to smoke. the smoke is whiteish but doesnt seem like steam im going to do a compression test on the cylinders to see what this shows if it shows good compression i will replace plugs leads dizzy cap ect if any body has any ideas in the mean time i would like to hear them
