RENAULT CLIO 2003 MODEL 1.2 - CAR ELECTRICS - JOHN R P

CLICKING NOISE FROM TIMER UNIT WHICH GOES AWAY WHEN YOU WIGGLE MULTI-PLUG CONNECTION, ONLY TO COME BACK LATER. I HAVE OPENED THE TIMER UNIT LOOKING FOR RELAYS BUT ONLY FOUND A PRINTED CIRCUIT WITH NON REMOVEABLE PARTS [ I DID THIS WITH THE PLUGS STILL CONNECTED ] CAN I REMOVE MULTI-PLUGS ONE AT A TIME TO CHECK FOR CORROSION WITHOUT MISHAP IE LOSING ALL CONTROL OF CAR POWER DUE TO IMMOBILISER FAILURE ETC. OR IS THERE ANY OTHER REASON FOR THE CLICKING NOISE.ALL HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM WILL BE GRATEFULLY APPRECIATED

First, look at the left hand side of the keyboard. Button marked "Caps Lock". Press it.

Car problem? It's a 1.2 Clio, the ECU will be fried. You'll get about £200 for the car weighed in.

sorry for the capitals [ i did not realise that it mattered ] as for the ecu it can' t be fried as it does not have any other problems when being driven on any journey. the clicking sometimes starts when sitting idling or when you drive over a bump in the road but stops again after a few seconds. i was going along the lines of a faulty multi-plug or a hairline crack on the printed circuit. i have inspected it with an illuminated magnifying glass and it looks brand new with no signs of corrosion which the renault mechanic said was the cause.i was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem.......john r p
