Mazda 3 sports (185) 2009 - car computer not reset - Elin

Flashing DPF light on dashboard 13/02/12. Mazda dealer diagnostic revealed no fault on DPF, light caused by their failure to reset car computer after service in July 2011. Will this have had any adverse effect on the DPF/engine to date or cause any premature failings in the future?

I wonder why the dealer did not reset the computer on your recent diagnostic visit given it was part of the service and something that was "missed" at the time. You should have put your two questions above to the dealer after the diagnosis and it is not too late to do so now. The response would also set a marker for any future action that may be required by the dealer for not resetting the computer.
