I've had this on Vauxhalls where it was impending failure of the alarm back-up battery - no warning lights and nothing in the owners manual.

I have a 05 reg automatic 307 and recently it's starting intermittently beeping once when you turn the engine on.

No warning lights on the dashboard or anything.

Does anyone know what 1 beep is? I can find loads of threads online about 3 beeps but not about 1!

Hi Sarah,

Do you have an exterior temperature gauge or a reversing warning bleeper? On my 307, a single bleep when starting means "ice warning" and when selecting reverse gear a single bleep tells you that the rear obstacle warning system is working.
