Bump!

Just to say that Skoda UK now appear to recognise the possibility of an actual (as opposed to an imagined) problem, after a brief test drive at Mulhollands Randlestown the car is booked in for a full days "diagnostics" on the 30th, a courtsey car being provided.

Cheers

Sorry you haven't had any replied to this, Dleseldogg. For some reason the dry-clutch 7-sped DSG gives problems (particularly with manoeuvring) that the 6-speeder (as on my Octavia vRS) doesn't.

Try looking on the Briskoda forum - Fabia owners section - where there should be some discussions on this.

VW or Skoda or Seat - loss of drive on incline with 7 speed DSG - Yet another John

I have an 09 Golf 1.4 tsi with a 7 speed DSG box. Twice in the last two months I have had complete loss of drive when setting off to work. It has happened in exactly the same place, after about 250 metres from home, and I have coasted into the same layby. If I turn the engine off and re-start everything is OK again.

After the first occurance I took it into my dealer who put it on a diagnostic test which reported that there had been a fault but that it had "fixed itself". It happened again yesterday, so back to the dealer tomorrow.

I had the clutch replaced about 4 months ago.The warrantee runs out in May, so I'm getting worried

I would be worried to; i'd get rid as soon as your warranty expires personally
