Peugeot 306 petrol 1998 R reg - engine missing - peter110461

i ve had this 306 for about 4 years now with no problems at all just befor xmas it started to play up it was juddering like a petrol problem or plugs so first i changed the plugs,(no change)then the HT leads (still the same) then the coil pack (still the same)and last of all the large petrol filter under the car but it is still the same i am not sure what to look at next and would like some advice ,.when you drive it one time you go out its fine and if you park it for half a hour or so then go out again its like it is only fireing on two cinlinders but if you rev it hard its fine untill you come to drive it then a nother time you can go out and do 30 milesor more without a problem .? thanks pete

Don't know to much about modern petrol engines I haven't run one for about 25 years but it sounds as though the 12v supply to the ignition system could be varying. I have never had anything with coil packs but presumably there is a 12v feed which will come via the ignition switch, possibly a fuse and a relay. If you can monitor the supply you can see if it drops when the problem is present.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly who knows more about it and will probably tell me I'm talking out of my hat.

the only thing is it runs fine when stood still only happens under load when driving i was wondering if the cdi was breaking down the peugeot garage wants £72 plus vat to put it on there computer and knowing my luck it wont be playing up at the time i take it down ????

took it to my normal garage they could,nt find nothing wrong (did,nt charge me as well ) they said to get it on a computer found one that done it for £40 (not £72 like pugeot wanted) they fixed it it was the map sensor was faulty which cost £64 all fixed now.
