Volkswagon Lupo 1.4S - Engine Management Light ON - mazda60

Hi,

My wife's Lupo has EML ON. The fault code is logged as P0171 "Lean Burn" Bank 1. The car runs as well as ever with good fuel economy and passed it's last MOT without any emission issues.

Can anyone suggest where I should start to find and resolve the problem ?

  • Check Fuel Pressure Regulation

  • Check Intake System for Leaks
  • Check Exhaust System for Leaks
  • Check Secondary Air System for Leaks
  • Check Vacuum Pipes for Leaks

Hi,

I had the dashlight reset and it remained so for next 3 days but is now back on again. Is this liable to narrow down the possible cause from you list or not ?

Any comments welcomed.
