Hi, we have a Renault Clio 54 reg diesel that has been off road for 8 months now. It did run ok apart from it now blows white smoke out of exhaust. We were going to get this fixed recently however when we went to drive it to the garage we realised the battery had gone dead as we'd left it to long and we haven't got round to doing anything since (i know this is very silly of us). It doesn't have a valid mot it passed the last one fine though and it's sorn at the mo as were not using it. If someone was interested in buying it 'as is' how much would you suggest that i say to them?
Thanks for you help, i have no idea when i come to cars as you can tell :)

As it stands, not much!

But this is too young a car to sell for scrap: charge up the battery (get a cheap charger from somewhere like Halfords if you haven't got one, and disconnect at least one terminal when you charge it) - and then get an estimate from a mobile mechanic (cheaper than a Renault dealer and you won't have to get a tax disc immediately) for whatever repairs the engine needs.

Its the kind of car which if put roadworthy would sell to someone. Calculate up what it'd cost to get it on the road, search auto trader for similar cars in your area, see what they're priced at and see if the difference is worth it.
