I would like to know if anyone has done driving experience with LIVIT X formally Driving Experiences Direct.

I paid for a voucher last year and have booked onto several of there dates this year for them all to be cancelled. Im very doubtful this is a legitimate company and real feel i have been involved in a scam and lost out on hundreds of pounds as a result.

Anyone with any information aboput this company please let me know. Thanks!

I have just had an experience cancelled for the shropshire centre stating the replacement track isn't ready - what reasons have you been given for cancellations?

Driving Experiences - Armstrong Sid

Being nosey, I've just looked at the LIVIT X website, which is very impressive and professional.

They give their address as 14 Monument Lane, Lickey, Birmingham.

Look at Streetview, and that is a big private house/cottage on a quiet county lane.

Interesting

There are 2 Livit Experiences companies registered at Companies House. Not much useful info as both are new this year with no financials filed. Living Experiences Centre Limited shows two directors, one in West Midlands, both busy boys with various active and dissolved companies behind them.

Most Probably RENTED!!

Or Squatting!

Driving Experiences - MrsN

No doubt that is what our money is paying for because it doesn't seem to be going towards the experiences we have all booked!

I too have had days cancelled with Livit X. Bought the voucher over a year ago and been unable to use it due to 'track upgrades'. I don't believe they are a legitimate company the guy who runs their customer services - Ross Jones- used to own Driving Experiences Direct which went bust 3 weeks after I bought my voucher. He claims that Livit X took over my voucher as a goodwill gesture but he was a Director of the new company for a short time! Demanded my money back after 3rd cancelletion but he refused and offered more days in September. Looked at website and these too have been cancelled! I've taken to posting reviews on their website which they keep deleting and they have even changed my rating from 1 star to 3. I suspect that Livit X are taking money until they declare themselves bankrupt. I don't believe there are any track upgrades and i don't believe any of the days people are still booking will materialise. I have reported them to Consumer Direct and Trading Standards but I don't expect much will happen.

Driving Experiences - MrsN

This is ridiculous! Everytime I book a date its cancelled and my refund is refused as ROSS tells me they havent taken any money from me, Driving Experiences Direct have.

The new shropshire track they have been talking about is not actually there I am told. I know people who live in the area and they have said there isnt a racing track there????

How can they sell you a product they dont have. Ive paid them for goods they cant deliver !!!! Getting very angry now and to find out ROSS JONES owned the previous company is just fuelling the fire as after all HE did take my money!

I booked a voucher with "Driving Experiences Direct" in April 2010. Voucher nearly expired so paid to extend it (now to a company called "LivitX", booked the experience for July 2011, it got cancelled. Booked again for 30th September and it was also cancelled. No refund offered and the same lame excuse about the track not being finished. All report your story about LivitX / Driving Experiences Direct - www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/

Driving Experiences - Fitzy2011

FAO Caprice- Thanks for the Link

I Have Reported my Case to WATCHDOG. Suggest that Others do the Same.

Driving Experiences - MrsN

I have been given a number of excuses, firstly in July it was that the track was not finished then in August it was that the track work had not even started.

Surely if you're going to lie to your customers you should remember what you have told them previously.

I am going to do some more digging and see what I can find out about these two con artists. I see they have a facebook page which has been updated when they have been "working on the track" I also see there are pictures uploaded by their staff and they have been tagged in them, so maybe a message to some of their staff will shed a bit of light on the situation. I am also intrigued as to why they have had no office staff for the past month or so, when I regularly spoke to a man and woman that worked there.

Driving Experiences - nicola1

good idea, i'm so angry, anything else we can do, i tried trading standards but that hasnt worked???

This is very interesting - I too have a voucher bought originally from Driving Experiences Direct - my bookings have now been cancelled 5 times for various reasons - faulty car, track not ready. I was also told I couldn't have a refund as I didn't buy the voucher from them - interesting to know that Ross came from DED!. I only noticed the latest booking is to be cancelled by looking on their website. I've emailed today and apparently they are in the process of arranging refunds - no mention of voucher not being booked with them, however, I will believe this when I see it.
Driving Experiences - Angryone

I live near to LiveitX Oswestry (Rednal) site and I can confirm that the site on the old airfield is where they are supposed to be running these 'driving experiences' is just an old rough runway and apparently would cost somewhere in the region of £125,000 to tarmac and be suitable for use by high performance cars. Don't know anything about their other locations , but this one is definitely not in operation at the moment, nor, I would suspect in the near future. Do not waste your money - should be reported to Watchdog. There have been many people turn up, only to find there is no 'experience', just disappointment!

Driving Experiences - passpartout

What may also be of interest is that I believe Mr Blake-Jones did some work for Mr Edward Davenport - the person who was jailed for a £4.5m fraud scam. Wonder if there's any link?

Driving Experiences - MrsN

This is very very interesting!!!!

Destination P is a company that craig blake jones owns. Edward davenport has a link on the site on which he has left a review and DRIVING EXPERIENCES DIRECT have a link too where our one and only ROSS JONES has left a review. Check it out!!!!!

Very interesting reading.
My wife brought me a driving experience voucher from merry hill for £70 or £75. in Nov 2010, still waiting after 3 cancellations.
I had an email saying that my voucher was going to be honored by LivitX, and that DED had gone bump.
But in an email to Ross and his brother Craig Blake-Jones I stated that my wife brought the voucher from LivitX.
I didnt need to have my voucher honored.
I am upset for my wife who paid the money out in good faith for a driving experience and we haven’t received it nearly 1 year later.

I have seen a bad reviews on other sites too
Its a shame us unfortunates are getting money taken from our pockets and not receiving anything for it.

They too tell me the track has not been weed sprayed and trucks cant go on because of the rain, blah bah, tarmac, office shut, truck, etc, etc.....

Would be nice to see £70 / £75 given back to the wife.

Destination P Take is about right.

Looking bad, unfortunately

A quick company records check says that Livit Experiences Limited (company registered number 07282594) received first notice of 'striking off' in the London Gazette on 13th October. No accounts submitted ever and a current County Court judgement for £21,363. That might suggest that any monies paid into this company no longer exist - if they can't pay their debts.

There is another company called Livit Experiences Centre (I suspect that this is the track as a separate company) which also has no accounts submitted but was only created in July this year - so may be something to disguise the failings of the other Livit company to move money.....

So, his companies:

Viable Entertainment Limited (Dissolved); Box Office Global Holdings Limited (Dissolved); Destination P (Pre-dissolution - insolvent); Livit (one in trouble); and, Box Office Productions Limited (was being struck off this year but withdrawn in August)

All looks like a poor track record (if you'll excuse the pun)

Update
Asked for a Refund 3 weeks ago.
Have now received it.
Thanks Craig Blake Jones, much appreciated.

Hi,

All this reading is very interesting ! I also bought my husband a voucher from Merry Hill in December for his 40th birthday in January, 2 cancellations later we have not heard anything, sent numerous e-mails but just had the same basic e-mail back that i presume they send as a general thing to everyone. Not happy at all !

Have you heard anything since your posting ?

Sarah

Driving Experiences - Sarahlou

Just e-mailed watchdog regarding this company !

Driving Experiences - passpartout

Livit Experiences operates under a holding company called World Top Technologies Limited which is listed as having 2 Directors - one is the same as for all Craig Blake-Jones companies (C&P Company Secretaries Limited) and the other is a Mr Ravi Sumra.

World Top Technologies received investment from Tangibal Group Plc who are run by a Mr Dominic Berger - who was a partner of Mr Blake-Jones when he ran Destination P! So suggest the introduction for funding was via Mr Blake-Jones but I wonder where that investment went?

Maybe those of us who bought tickets at Merry Hill may have more success with Mr Sumra and I will try and contact him via Twitter - @RaviSumra

Driving schools don't teach s*** here. They will make them drive on the right side lane choking up traffic behind and forcing everyone to overtake on the left putting pedestrians who don't have a side walk to get on in danger. This habit spills over when they buy their own cars and start driving.

Driving Experiences - AlexandSimon

My partner Simon was given some money for his 30th birthday last year. He bought the driving experience from LivitX at Autosport International in January 2011, feeling safe that the company must be decent enough if Autosport have allowed them to have a stand.

He received the same emails from Ross Jones regarding the track not being ready and kept getting fobbed off with alternate dates etc. After threatening legal proceedings he was told he'd get a refund. 6 months later we are still waiting for that refund.

He is now starting legal proceedings and luckily as he booked the experience on his credit card, there is a chance he'll be able to get the money back. He is so disappointed though as he had really been looking forward to this day and has had nothing but trouble. Ross Jones doesnt seem to give a s*** so i am reporting Livitx to Watchdog, Autosport International and anyone else i can think of! I've also advised friends and colleagues to stay well away. My partner and i work in the car industry so hopefully word of mouth will have some effect.

I am so sad to hear that we are not the only ones who have been disappointed. If we all report the company to watchdog though maybe something will finally get done about it. Come on people!

Driving Experiences - dolly_2012

I too have been trying to book an experience with livitx since September 2011, only to be continually fobbed off by saying the track isnt ready, the offices are shut for xmas, latest email states that dates will be known at the end of January 2012, my voucher expires in July 2012, I have written to the local press, as I live near the address of Monument Lane, and it seems that it is a rented address. I have also sent email to Watchdog, I too booked on my credit card but they say the terms of the voucher means they cannot do anything at the moment., but if you look at their facebook pages they seem to be still selling dates.

so frustrated with them...

Driving Experiences - carmad1991

i also brought mine in merry hill for £99 in december 2010 since then have booked six times and cancelled 6 times, something has got to be done about this, i have also reported to watchdog and would like other people to aswell, since the second time i was cancelled on i have been demanding a refund but every time they say we cant do refunds although i paid by card, i have spoke to both ross and craig and well.......... just should have put my head down the toilet and flushed it, total bulls*** every time. also guys reported them to trading standards and they have said im the 1st person to report them so would appreciate if other people did the same.

Driving Experiences - nicola1

DONT EVER BOOK WITH LIVIT X. I bought a voucher from them two years ago, I tried to book it up six times, and EVERY time they have emailed/called saying rubbish about the track not being finished, weather and now...the new excuse is....theres a new booking form that is soon to be up and running. No refund allowed either....funny that?!

Rubbish rubbish, i have emailed them saying that im going to report them to trading standards. They need to be stopped.

Driving Experiences - nicola1

Dont use this, i have tried to book up with them for two years, EVERY time theres a new excuse to why I can't drive with them, total rubbish, they are scum who are taking our money and need to be stopped. A suggestion to spread the word via facebook?

Driving Experiences at Livitx - wilkybarkid
Five months since I posted a message on here and almost 2 years since I bought my voucher and still nothing! Was told in November by Craig Blake-jones to send bank details for refund. New excuse is that they've moved offices and are still catching up but that as the new season has started he really wants to ' draw a line under the last few refunds' - don't we all?
I too have contacted Watchdog and Trading Standards but still they are being allowed to trade- although I see that the payment gateway on the Livitx website has been ' temporarily unavailable' for the last 4 months so maybe at least someone has caught onto the fact that they are con artists. All is not lost though as the kind folk at Livitx will still accept payment by bank transfer or a cheque for the new season- now that's customer service!.
Has anyone had a refund yet? No doubt we'll now start getting fobbed off with the excuse that new dates are now available for 2012!!!!!
Driving Experiences at Livitx - lollipopshoes
I did finally get a refund before Christmas from this bunch of con artists - after much persistance, keep at it, email, phone. Spent the money on a voucher for Silverstone and did my drive at the weekend - very easy booking procedure, no excuses, turned up on the day, they knew I was coming, all very slick and thoroughly enjoyable. Ok, it may be a bit more expensive (I got a deal before Christmas so actually cost the same) but at least you know the track exists! And I can now say I've driven round Silverstone. All I can say to anyone who is still trying to get their money back is keep at it. I didn't believe it would happen and was ready to write it off, so be persistent. Also can't believe these people are still trading - there must be lots of disappointed people out there - it needs a collaboration to get together and report this bunch of con men.

Thanks for the advic and encouragement lollipopshoes. Decided to send yet another email to Livit and to my amazement yesterday I actually received a refund!!Same advice goes to everyone else- keep at it!
Driving Experiences at Livitx - Midlifecrisis2001

I too am delighted to report that after a few months of asking I have finally been given a refund for my experiences. I know a little about Livitx as my son used to be an instructor for them and they have run many successful and well attended events in the past. I know they intend to develop their own track but the time and investment is proving more than they anticipated. However I believe they now have the necessary funding to progress the project and expect to be running driving experiences again this year, initially from a temporary track for April and May and are taking bookings now. The new Centre is due to open in the summer.

I think you can be confident they will honour your bookings or provide a refund if you wish.

I wish them good luck.

Clive

Driving Experiences at Livitx - dolly_2012

we have now been given a date in April for our experience, so fingers crossed we will get to drive! but not banking on it until the day arrives and we are in a car, they are using a disused airfield in Pershore, Worcs, so will drive out there next week and see if the track has been booked.

Midlifecrisis2001 if your son was an instructor and you know the new centre will be open in the summer why did you go for a refund?

I bought a voucher from LivitX at the end of 2010 as a xmas present for my ex. This was booked twice last year and both times was cancelled by LivitX because 'the track wasn't ready'. I have now requested a refund as my ex is not booking the experience and as far as I am aware he has left the country for work. Firstly I was told that a refund would not be considered as there are dates now available to book, I then explained that the person I bought it for would not be booking so they said I could still book, I explained that I would not want to book it myself and as the experience was cancelled twice by them I would like a refund. They then reply to say 'The coucher remains his property' to which I replied that this isn't the case as I paid for the experience and it is in my name and they had already said I could book which would then mean it is in my name. I have told them (as I have passed the whole politeness stage with them) that I would like a refund as soon as possible otheriwse I will be taking this further.

I will keep you posted.

In the meantime I would be interested to find out if your experience goes ahead dolly_2012.

Well today we went on our experience day, not knowing what to expect but as we hadnt had an email saying it was cancelled we were hoping it would go ahead, As we got nearer the airfield we could see some high performance cars and our hopes soared, and indeed as we drove closer we could see the sigining in tent, cars, and plenty of people, and we got our drive! the weather was perfect and we enjoyed the morning, and I am so relieved that it turned out ok after all the comments on here, fingers crossed for all of you who still have vouchers to book, and hope the same happens for you,

Hi everyone.

To confirm, after reading the above reviews, and phoning livitx around 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 21st, I was very concerned that the business had ceased trading as I got the answerphone message that "livitx was closed". I was genuinely so concerened I e-mailed the livitx guys & copied in BBC's Watchdog consumers program.

Following that e-mail, I was contacted the same day by livitx who confirmed the booking for the day & that the day would be going ahead. So we made the trip from Telford to Pershore.

What did we find I hear you asking?

We found a fantastically well organised event to be honest! My fears were not justified at all. The superb friendly staff got my daughter booked in straight away, her booked time was14.50. All 3 of us were in the People carrier for 2 familiarisation laps before you could bat your eyelids. My daughter was then whisked off to the Audi R8 and she loved every moment! Her instructor was very proficient & friendly, the car drove superbly, and the in-car camera provided a great memento!

So all in all A BIG WELL DONE TO LIVITX!

And sorry Ross... a very well run professional outfit.

WSould definitely recomend the livitx experience to anyone, we will also be back!

Had my driving experience with Livit x on saturday, when we got there we got quickly signed in and didnt have long to wait till we got took round for a couple of demo laps in the crysler people carrier, as soon as we got back it was off again, for our experiences, and pedal to the metal time down the long straight and the chicanes, it was so good that i had a go of 2 more cars, whilst we waited for my little bro's passenger ride we got offered a free off road experience, which we took up straight away, after all that it was time for a couple of hot laps in the subaru, wow!!! at the end of the day it was hard to take the smiles off our faces, well pleased with the outcome at the end of it, well professional and very friendly staff, what else can i say but highly recommend it and will come back to you soon.

many thanks

hey, i have had the same cancellations that you all have had and yesturday had my driving experience with ivit x and was VERY impressed. through no fault of their own they had to make the cancellations. my day was fantastic, one of the best days i have ever had. all the staff were VERY friendly and made every effort to ensure my day was the best it could be.

The organiser Ross Jones took every spare minute he had to ensure my day was perfect even though he was very busy catering for over 100 people who were all having a fantastic day. Very nice and generous gentleman who answered any questions we had.

The staff , all though extremely busy, would answer any questions we had about the cars and let you walk around the dars and take photos of the cars even if it wasnt the car you were there to drive.

I had a fantastic day with them and to that end my Dad and sister are booking in for another day and i will defonately be going again and hope to drive all the cars there.

If any one has any questions about LIVIT X please feel free to ask me or get in touch with me, i have uploaded pics and videos to facebook, feel free to have a look, search for dave sainsbury and you wiil see may pics/vids and i shall be uploading them to you tube aswell.

IT REALLY IS NOT SCAM !!! ITS A FANTASTIC DAY
