I have a 57 plate Zafira B 1.6 life with 35000 on the clock.
For the last month or so i've noticed that it has been pulling to the left slightly. I've also noticed a high pitched whistling noise coming from what i believe is the front of the car. It is not there all the time and comes and goes during the duration of a journey and sometimes i don't hear it for several days. Some other things i have noticed about the noise:
It occurs more often when i have passengers in the car.
Occurs at any speed - i've noticed it on the motorway at 70mph and also on tesco car park at 10mph
If i put any sort of pressure on the brake pedal it goes away. As soon as i lift my foot off it starts again.
Apart from the noise and pulling to the left. I have no other issues with the car. It starts first time, handles ok and fuel economy is same as always.
I've had the car back at the dealers and they claim to have done a full diagnostic and conlcuded that the front brake plates were rubbing against disks. They claim that they have adjusted these which should have sorted the problem. They also said the pulling to the left was a different issue and that i needed the tracking adjusting which they also claim to have done (at a cost of 35.00).
However, i've had the car back 2 days now and it's still whistling and still pulling to the left as before.
Can anybody suggest what the problem may be??
