When braking in my mk2 mondeo I can feel a knocking through the brake pedal. I am reasonably mechanically minded and have checked this on the net including this site and basically I have eliminated most common causes..
1) Both drive shafts have been replaced with new ones (the n/s driveshaft had a knackered cv joint)
2) Both bottom arms have been replaced with new (o/s balljoint had slight play)
3) New discs & pads been fitted
I have even tried swapping both front hubs from one of my mates who runs a scrappy to eliminate wheel bearing problems and they seem fine.
After doing the above work I've gotta admit the knocking isnt as bad but still noticable.. When I tried braking heavy I didnt notice it.. it seems to be only when braking normally-gently and only at low speed just before stopping..
Iv searched this thousands of times and apart from the obvious cv joint/ball joint/bushes/brake symptoms that iv now eradicated the only other things iv found it could be is the subframe mount bushes but iv checked them and they seem to be fine.. I also noticed someone saying the abs system may need pressure flushing.. the only other thing I have noticed is thier is slight play on the o/s droplink (fitting them next week) but surely that wouldnt cause it..
Is thier anything else anyone can think of or would you agree with flushing the abs system??
Thanks in advance
