Citroen Xsara 1.4 - Citroen Xsara temp light and stop lamp - paulket

I seem to have a problem with the temp light and stop lamp coming on when the temprature reaches 90 degrees.

The car is not pressurising and it is not over heating.

I have changed both the sender units although when I replaced the one on the side of the head no water came out, not sure if that is correct or not.

It has Air con if that makes a difference

Any thoughts.

The sensor has to be in contact with the coolant to pick up the correct temperature. I suspect you either have air at this point in the engine or the hole is blocked with debris.
Remove the sensor & poke some wire in to clear any obstruction. If no coolant flows remove the header cap & add coolant until is does. Replace the sensor & hopefully should be fixed.
