Mazda 6 (2004) - headlights - fleggo

When my headlights are on there is a loud buzzing noise coming from them. i believe it has to do with the adjustment to the beam level which is operated from the cabin manually. Currently i have lodged the the switch between 0 and 1 and the noise has ceased and the lights are fine. Can someone tell me how to put it right? I have never used this function but fear it could be the cause of Mot test failure or ControlTechnique as it it is called here in France.

The electronic headlamp hight adjuster is faulty. I had the same problem with both of my headlamps on my 2003 Mazda 6. Both were replaced under warranty.

Thank you wmo for your reply. i was afraid that would be the case. My car is well out of warranty of course so i guess i can expect a large bill.
