I managed to get a urinary infection as a direct result of too much high speed high-adrenaline driving. The prostate is slowly recovering its old shape but its made me acutely aware of my suspension & I now drive fewer miles. I have a foam cushion {www.icnsales.com/chair-cushions/} which is great & am thinking about softening the suspension with new springs & shocks. I would be interested in any other experiences on this topic. thanks.

I would nature take its course you could spend thousands on the car for no benifit except it will handle like a jelly, having had bladder cancer and the subsequent treatment I can sympathise with you I wore my cycling shorts for long journeys those with the padded seat.

I am puzzled by how driving quickly causes bacteria to enter the hole at the end of the penis, travel inwards and multiply. Is this well known amongst racing drivers?

I would also be interested to learn if many other posters regularly examine their prostate. Unless you are a contortionist you will need a [very good] friend!

You'd be better off putting smaller wheels and higher profile tyres on, than going to the vast expense of a suspension change....or trading the car in for a more comfortable one.

If you want supreme ride comfort go for a Citroen with hydropneumatic suspension, or an american car if you wish to relive a prostate exam every time you refuel... :)

citroen hydropneumatic should be the answer but owner reviews of the C5 show they spend more time at the dealer being repaired than on the road.

Yes - Koni FSD shocks + new springs are best part of £1,000 so am looking at 15" wheels. Cheaper than bmw x1 or Skoda Yeti.

This very good friend of which you speak. Don't try a certain Ms Wood of Liverpool and pay £195 for the privilege. Unless you can afford £10K plus to pay Schillings for your Super Injunction.

Mind how you go......

Er? My car had a very hard ride, with lowered and stiffened suspension. This means I have to slow to just above walking pace for the worse speed humps! Not for my prostate but because I smack my head on the roof. However this all balances itself out on M ways and fast roads!

I think a foam cushion might lead to spinal problems. Better would be a typist's cushion, a firm wedge (which tilts you forward and so avoids slumping) but with a rear cut-out.

Assuming there's no underlying medical condition, the prostate and urinary problems are more likely to have been caused by stitting still for a long period of time, possibly without a pee stop, than a hard riding car. I know someone who had exactly the same symptoms but they drove an ordinary hatchback at normal speeds.

The main medical condition attributable to high-speed, high-adrenaline driving is sudden death through impact trauma.

Yes - you are corrent - it *was* sitting too long but adrenalin produced by high speed driving (& being late for meetings) supressed the desire to pee + also being dehydrated didnt help. After the infection was nailed with antibiotics, my urogolist prescribed alpha blockers to relax the bladder & this targets the adrenal system - you see - it *is* adrenalin or tension related. I dumped the tablets & now leave extra time for meetings & drink lots of tea. Still affected by long drives but much more aware of the physical effects of high speed long distance driving. thanks for mentioning blunt trauma - that would have been much worse.

Priceless !!

I suffer severe headaches every time I pass a filling station on the motorway that is selling fuel at 12p a litre more than my local garage. Now they have the prostate problems, because they are taking the proverbial. Apparently it is because our glorious leaders take an extra percentage for the "concession"...

Glad i got my bus pass, I'm gonna use it!
