(I think it's a G,1999, the model before my Astra Mk 5 (H) 2005.

A friend of mine's SRS light came on over the winter (-30c) and I'd like ot try and help her out. It was at the same time that her daughter used the car and as a result of using a childs seat in the rear, moved the front seats to and fro a lot.

As far as I'm aware there are no airbags in the seats.

Can someone give me a quick list of components/locations in the SRS system ?

There are driver and passenger airbags. I assume there is a control unit somewhere and also one or more impact detection switches ?

I'm hoping I'll hear that there's something under the seat whose connections may have become dislodged.

(I'm quite familiar with the need to disconnect the battery for a good period of time before touching the system, thanks).

Connectors under the seats to the seat belt pre-tensioners are a fairly common cause of problems. Fixing the problem wont put the light out though, it has to be reset using diagnostics.

Is a car of this age likely to have seat belt pre-tensioners ?

Maybe I'll undo/remake the connectors and try and get it reset somewhere. (ot easy here in Latvia).......ebt
