Hi Guys

After cleaning out my EGR valve i am still getting some problems with my car. either bad idle or sometimes not starting and shakes in low revs under 2k.

I noticed that when cleaning the egr that the pipe leading away from it (to the right and around teh back) is also from what small part i can see into it, has a lot of carbon build up.

I am toying with the idea of taking this off and cleaning but is it worth it? Or should i be looking elsewhere for my carbon build up problem?

atm the car is very bad when cold and is like riding a donkey, there is a knocking in the engine also that gets slightly better after 5 miles run. when starting the engine after 4 hours there is also alot of exshust smoke which after time settles.

So far i have replaced the fuel filter and had an injector reconditioned in past week and cleaned out the EGR myself. So does anyone else have any other tips to try? what else coudl be wrong?

Did you remove the plastic inlet manifold and clean it most important.

Not done teeh inlet manifold yet. it is on my list.

This weekend i intend to take off the pipe coming from the EGR valve and clean it throughout, It i steh one that wraps itself aroudn the engine to the right. exiting the EHR valve on the right had side. I have been told this is attached to the turbo? inside the pipe is thick with carbon. Would the turbo be to blame?

if after cleaning the egr and the pipe properly i still have proplems i will clean the manifold, have bought some carb/throttle cleaner also

I have also bought some stuff called seafoam and deep creep from ebay. it is supposed to enter the engine and rid it of all deposits. anyone used this before?

thank you for your reply and any thoughts on my actions next?
