Hi,
I've been thinking of buying an approx two year old 1.9 TDI Octavia and have read about the injector issues. Given the debate about what injectors are fitted (e.g. see above), I contacted Skoda customer service, gave them the registration plate of an 09 example from a local dealer and asked who made its fuel injectors. The answer was Siemens. (I also asked if it had a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and they said it didn't.)
Having read quite a lot of bad things on the net about Siemens injectors on VAG diesel engines, my impression is that the Siemens injector failures are way more common on the 2.0 engines than on the 1.9 ones. Is that correct?
BTW, am a software engineer not a mechanic. So, apologies if any of the above is incorrect :).
Thanks,
Mark_Space.
