I should get it checked fairly urgently. My old Megane had the same problem which progressively got noisier until the compressor seized completely, stopping the car dead (very strong auxiliary belts nowadays!). It needed a new compressor, about £600, plus belts and labour. I had the cambelt done at the same time seeing as it was having to be stripped down anyway. There is no way of lubricating them separately as the lubricant is within the aircon liquefied gas, and the whole system does have to be drained and refilled to work on it.
