Nissan Note 1.6 Tekna auto (2007) - heater fan stopped working - superwang2005

After 3 years trouble-free, the' in-car' heater /air con fan suddenly stopped working. Fan controls on dashboard show symbols and lights on as normal, but fan did not function.

This fault is unusual on the Note but more common on the Nissan Micra model. After testing, the fault was traced to be a 'Fan control module', a small plug-in unit mounted under the dashboard.

This is not a repairable item and a new replacement unit is only available from the Nissan Dealership. The repair involves removing the glovebox compartment to gain access to the unit. There are two multi-pin plugs to pull out and simply refit into the new unit, which is secured by 2 self tapping screws.

The repair cost £135 inc. Labour at a Nissan specialist. Everything now functions ok
