Ford Focus 02 - steering problems - sophkett

can anyone shed some light my steering goes light and heavy had tracking done balancing and 4 wheel alignment my steering pump went then got sold a dodgy second hand 1 so changed that again then got told it was the valve in the pressure switch and again didnt cure the problem can anyone help??

Still sounds like the pump to me. Is the change in effort required random or does it go heavy when you apply hard lock?

random or at least in low gears or when i hit a pot hole i could drive in fifth and it be light then it would just go heavy i dont understand cars myself after all im a 'woman' lol but knew it was too dangerous to drive just had steering rack done? problems better still there but not as bad pulling but roads r bad so tracking might be off. Still ive read these forums and see you seem to know what ur talking about the most do you think this man keeps selling me duff pumps?
