Anybody got opinions about the Apple Iphone.

The work has told me to get my backside down to Tesco and get myself an Iphone.

I'm looking at the Apple Iphone page on Tesco Direct just now. When I read about new technology I start dosing off.

Iphone - Yes or no? Advice greatly appreciated.

I used to be quite firmly against them, as a few mates had them and were always raving about them.

I happened come by a 3gs a few months ago after a succession of Nokias, and although they are a bit dear, they are miles ahead of anything else I've tried. It's just far slicker and better put together than the comparators that I've tried...God, I sound like one of my mates!

My girlfriend has the 4g, and aside from the clearer screen (which you don't notice until the two are side by side) and the improved camera, we've not noticed any practical differences between the two. Big jump in price though...

Had various phones and now have the iPhone 3GS. Best phone have ever had, but the phone is only one of the great functions. The apps are brilliant. I am using my iPhone now to comment on this through the honest John app. Only downside is the physical size of the phone and the amount of time you waste just playing with it. Overall, well recommended.

One friend, an internationally recognised photography expert, now leaves all his cameras at home and just uses the iphone. Sadly I don't use a mobile enough to make it worthwhile buying an iphone - so I'll stick with the ipod.

Oh, and just because something is perceived as over-priced that doesn't mean it is automatically rubbish.

If you want a phone, get a phone, not an iPhone. But if you want a phone with an MP3 player, and other apps, then the iPhone is first rate. I have the iPod touch. It's brilliant.

From talking to others cos I can't afford one, I understand that they are pretty good at what they do but that they try and force you down a proprietary Apple route for music instead of the more transportable mp3 format.

They are probably overpriced but not rubbish but also rely on people buying them for the street cred aspect.

What utter tosh. The iPhone and iTunes handle MP3 files. So you can buy the music in say MP3 format on Amazon or Tesco and load onto an iPod or another MP3 player.

Iphones are good, there is no doubt about that. ( I own up to having an Iphone 4), but Android phones are just as good, and a fraction cheaper.

Yes the iphone is dear, but I think it justifies its price premium, I have not had a moments second thought about the cost.

I have been issued with a Blackberry it has so many useless functions I use a phone to answer and make phone calls like 90% of people.

Phones that work with the new LTE network are the best and fastest at downloads most cities in Europe will have a LTE nework by the year end LTE 100mbps compared to UMTS at 7.2mbps these are maximum speeds.Thats of course if thats what you want a phone for

I don't like to have Apple products as they're so intent on the user buying apps which are free on other OS and you're not able to modify anything. Battery life isn't amazing either.

I have an Android phone - AMOLED screen, lovely interface, decent battery life, far cheaper contracts!

Well given their recent advertising, you better get one quick or you are just a complete loser (apparently). They essentially say "if you havn't got an iPhone, well then you don't have an iPhone" lol, makes me laugh.

But seriously, a very desirable product but I am sure other phones such as the htc desire do a good job with additional features, at a more reasonable price. Doesn't stop me from wanting an iPhone though!

The production costs of a basic mobil and a Iphone are just a few pounds I couldnot think of giving these companies so much profit as my wifes chinese copy does everything a Iphone does and cost only a few euros.Its all in the mind you know.

The copies are cheap as they don't have to do any of the design,marketing,research,warranties etc - they just copy and go and I've not seen any cheap China phone that can do anything as well as an iPhone or Android Smartphone.

I certainly have and mine has a flash camera ,android and has ability to use two sims and works on the new LTE network cost the eqivalent of 45euros.Anybody who pays for for old technology I phone either has a lot of money or its a snob thing,plenty of phones perform far better than the I phone (Samsung for one)and even the new one that has just been announced is already out of date technology wise .

Well i had Nokia's for years and am quite content with a Blackberry Curve now. I dont need to watch YouTube on my phone, i have better things to do so have never been able to justify the outlay for an iPhone personally.
