Ford Focus - Lubricating gear box - Focus_Driver

Is it possible to lubcriate a gear box using grease or wd40 to get rid of the squeaks during gear changes? I'm not talking about taking the gear box apart, just removing the cover, if thats possible. I have a mk1 Ford focus.

The gearbox has oil in it. The squeak may be a selector rod or joint outwith the gearbox or even the selector/gearstick. Regards Peter

Ford Focus - Lubricating gear box - Victorbox

Lift up gearstick gaiter and use white grease to lubricate the plastic linkages under gearstick. Also you can use general purpose grease or more white spray grease on metal rods & linkages in engine bay on top of gearbox.
