went to change my oil today only to find the plug well and truley stuck and have managed to make more of a mess of the head. also i poured engine flush in ran for 15 min thinking oil change easy usually is? .... is it ok to drive with flush in there help!! ....

I would think that if the plug is that bad ,the thread in the sump must be pretty bad as well.

Did you drain the engine before inserting the flushing oil ? If so you must have overtightened it, If not depends on the ratio of the two oils & how far & how fast are you intending to drive it .

Hi a friend of mine did the same and his engine died not too long after, to get the plug out try welding a bolt to the plug , that should do the trick to remove it then a new plug woll be needed, hope this helps

May be easier in the end to get a sump from a scrappie (check the drain plug first ;D ) and fit it with a new gasket. You should have drained the oil before flushing. If you have done so you're probably to blame for the stuck plug. If not the gorilla that last changed the oil is to blame. It's no help but I once had a car services at a national (no ref to the National chain I emphasise chain) and *everything* was seriously overtightened as I found out when I did the next (out of warranty) service myself. The strap wrench I tried to undo the oil filter with needed an extension on the 1/2 in sq drive handle to undo it

Real common pronlem and its no big deal. If your carefull you can use a chisel and hammer to tap the outer edge of the sump bolt around. The sharp point of the chisel will dig in & the hammer action will shock the sump bolt loose.

BE CAREFULL NOT TO ALLOW THE CHISEL TO PUNCTURE THE SUMP.

I have undone hundreds on fords over the years in this manner & never had a problem.

cheers for advice will get it up on ramps tomorrow morn an give the chisel a go failing that weld a slightly bigger nut on an try that failing that will have to go a garage... also this van was last serviced by k**k fit feb2010 so i kinda hold them responsible for over tightening it never going to k**k fit again..

cheers for all advice i successfully managed to get the bolt out today by weldings a m12 nut onto what was leftof the old and it undid thanks again honest john works....
