ka 1.3 - Ford ka starting - ka06

My daughters car- just driven c 200 miles, when she tries to start it now it makes a whirring noise and doesnt start. then, when she tries the second time it starts & runs perfectly.

Would it be a wet / slipping fan belt or is it a sign of a starting motor wearing out? OR any other suggections please ?

sounds like a lazy or dirty starter motor/solonoid.
Check all the connections but sounds like its the start or starter motor failure.
( pardon the pun)
