Honda CRV-EX Auto. 2009 - Honda CRV - excessive rear brake noise - cadines

Excessive noise from rear wheels when braking. Car has <7,000 miles on it and has made the noise since new. Since the noise only occurs when braking it's presumably unlikely to be a differential problem. Right? Also, the Honda dealer has looked at the discs amd pads and reckons they're O.K. Any ideas anybody?

If car has been left idle for long period of time then might be corrosion on discs that may have stuck to pads. If dealer has looked at disc and pads have they been removed for inspection ?

PersonallyI would change the pads as they should be cheap enough and if noise still there then change discs as well as these arn't expensive but not as cheap as pads. if that don't fix it then is car under warranty as<7k miles I'd be down at the dealers again.

Good luck.

Lack of use = rust which wears off with a lot of noise. Gone when you get to garage hence not found.

Drive faster and more and brake hard..

Don't spend any money until you do the baove for a month.

I assume you wash car and wheels? That does not help. If you wash wheels, you should then drive 2 miles and brake a lot to remove moisture..
