My 2003 V70 D5 regulary (every 10-20k) develops a fault where under hard acceleration the engine hesitates & then goes into 'limp home' mode with the message 'Urgent engine service required'.
On stopping & restarting the engine it clears & drives Ok until you accelerate hard, when he problem re -occurs. It then gets progressively worse until the car is un driveable. On each occassion it has turned out to be the Bosch fuel metering valve that has gone faulty & usually ends up costing me £200 plus with diagnostics & labour.
So far I have been through about 4 of these units & did manage to get one replaced under warantee because it was less than 12 months old although it took over 3 months for Bosch to agree that the item was faulty.
Has anyone else had this problem & is there a way of fixing it without having to replace the unit all the time?
Thanks Peter
