Ford Focus MK2 - Ford Sony Radio/CD/MP3 - Ben 10

I have a mark 2 focus with a Sony radio. This morning I had the radio on and the volume was adjusting itself without touching the steering controls or the radio itself. It would increase and decrease in volume every few seconds.

Has anyone else with this model experienced the same thing. Is it a fault with the radio or the steering wheel controls. Or is it something else.
