Vauxhall Corsa B 1.5td - Engine cuts after a few seconds - michael1744

OK, this is driving me nuts! Car has been sitting for a week or two in the freezing cold but started ok. I ran it for about 40miles and filled up with deisel, it was running great. Later I went to start it and it struggled, it would fire but die after a few seconds. I found that switching the ignition off then on when it started to die would keep it running. After a bit of revving and off/on on the ignition it ran perfectly again. Seems like the fuel is being shut off, anyone have any ideas?

Much appreciated!

Perhaps a bad conexion in the electrical part of the ignition switch.

Try WD40, but may just require replacement if the contacts are worn out.

I wish it was that simple! No, it was the immobiliser shutting the fuel off. Had to remove the module at the pump, horrible, nasty job but its done and runs great again. Hope nobody steals it.... :D
