Can anyone recommend a brand of winter tyres which i could use all year round ? i do about 4000 miles per year, but over two thirds of that is in the winter, at 7 am. The car is hardly used in midsummer, just enough to keep it charged.
It is hilly where we live and I am struggling to get to work in the snow. The last mile is a steep country road, ungritted - and I don't get paid if i can't get in !
I need to replace my old tyres anyway and wondered if it would be sensible to get winter tyres, and leave them on for the few summer miles i drive. They are all on empty country roads where i hardly have to brake anyway.
i am assuming if i don't modify the wheels i don't need to inform my insurance company.
