Peugeot 206 - gearbox fault - technics

my friend has a gearbox fault. when the select 1st gear and start pulling away the gear box shudders. this only happens in first gear and only when pulling away once on the move its ok.

Unlikely to be the gearbox, probably either the clutch/DMF or an engine or gearbox mounting.

a new clutch has been fitted and new diff bearings due to the race came out when drive shaft was removed, the fault was there before new clutch was fitted aswell.

judder most likley caused by clutch fault or oil contamination or a glazed flywheel.

The flywheels if glazed normally need to be face ground to remove the hard spots, also need to check the clutch fork isn't twisted and the engine/g/box mounts are sound

new gearbox mount getting fitted tomorow to see if that will sort problem other than that have to look back at the clutch or flywheel.

Peugeot 206 - gearbox fault - boggles

A friend had a 206 with the same problem you describe. A new clutch didn't help either.That did turn out to be the mounting, so hopefully yours will be ok after tomorrow.
