I have a bit of a problem when i have my air-con or heating in the car on it just works on the windscreen, when i try to move the selector thing thing is moves but still no air or warmth coming out. its still stays on the windscreen. Im cooking in perth in my car can anyone help me please.

If its mechanical controls then you have a ceased valave/flap or a rod has come adrift and if they are electronic controls then you have a ceased valve/flap in both cases you need to get to the operating valve/flap to see what the problem is.I am afraid there is no easy solution the unit you are looking for is probably under the dashboard and not easy to get at.

The air distribution system on these old mondeos is vacuum controlled.If there is only air to the windscreen,then this would indicate a loss of vacuum to the system.This could be a simple fault of a split /broken pipe in the engine bay from the vacuum take off point on the engine.hth
