Hyundai Tucson - timing belt - marley

My tucson 2.0crtd cdx on an 05 (111bhp) is ready for its 70,000 service which also involves a cambelt change... I have been quoted between £566 and £790, apparently it is a pig of a job and takes 7 hrs. This is astonishing, £550 labour costs at one place. So am I going to be ripped of or are these prices about right...at those prices I may have a go myself.

Where in the country are you? That sounds like a bit of an overprice!! If your in the north east I'd tackle that for a lot less!!

In the west midlands, I think they are using golden spanners and wear diamond studded overall down here. got a friend of a friend in leeds looking into it, but even the lowest quote of £566 knocked me back. Interested why it takes 7 hours, I`ve had egine rebuilds done in that time.

8 years late to reply, but....from what I've read, then engine has to come out to do the timing belt! Was considering doing the belt on my old man's Tucson, but now I know this, no thankyou :)
