toyota corolla verso D4D T180 2.2 - get you home mode - fastfree

Hi, first time on site.A question for a toyota electronic guy perhaps. This vehicle is 2006 and when accelerating up hill deceided to go into get home mode, after displaying three lights on the dash. 1.engine 2. traction control and 3. stability control. The AA man arrived, the battery was disconnected and re-connected, and everything so far is OK. Question is- Do I have to pay £38 to go on the dealers computer, as I suspect any code will have been wiped, or can some clued-up guy inform me that this has occured before with this particular car? and offer a potential ststem of checks. many thanks, and this looks like a good site. fastfree.

Same warning lights illuminated on my 57 model at 61k, accompanied by much black smoke on acceleration. Fault diagnosed as faulty EGR, replacement cost inc. two hours' labour came to <£400.
