Peugeot 607 - 2005 Peugeot 607 2.2 HDI Not starting - emc4raz

Hi, ive got a peugeot 607 2.2 hdi which is not starting or cranking. Initially i purchase the car with a cooked engine, i have fitted a replacement engine and diesel pump but now it keeps on going into economy mode and does not start.

Ive tried ressetting the BSI which takes the car out of eco mode but still does not start or turn, the car will than go back into eco mode

After asking a few mechanics they have advised that the original diesel pump wil need to be fitted as its coded to the ECU, just wondering if this is correct.

When you say doesnt crank or turn. Do you mean the starter doesnt even engage? Have you checked all the wiring and the battery voltages etc. A bad earth strap between engine and chassis/battery can cause all manner of problems with the systems. Easily ruled out with a jump lead between engine and battery negative. Not heard of the pumps being coded, but not worked on many of the 2.2's.

Battery is in the boot, but their is a negative point in the engine bay, ill try this tommorow and see if it helps

ive been doing some research and found that common rail diesel pumps do not need coding, but the injectors are coded to the ecu, Also ive read somewhere that injectors are coded so the know what cylinders they are in.

My injectors were numbered before they were taken out, not by me, does anyone know what order the injectors are in or the firing order
