Peugeot expert van 2005 diesel.

I can only get it to start if i give it a spray with easy start.

If i loosen off the feed pipe to one of the injectors and turn the engine over, diesel will come out.

Im abit more used to older diesel engines. after you turned them over and loosened off the feed pipe it would squirt diesel out, because of the pressure..

but one this engine, it doesn't do that?

So am i right in thinking pressure is my problem?

and therefore, the diesel pump is at fault?

ecu/bsi all reads no codes

If it starts and runs, the pump is working..

Does it run? (I assume it does as it starts )

No, What i mean is. it'll only run off easy start.

as soon as the easy start runs out (you stop spraying it) it'll cut out.

I assume it's an HDI engine.

IIRC either the low pressure pump (tank) or the High pressure one is likely to have failed..

Test the fuses and listne to them.

I would suspect the crank position sensor is faulty so no pulses to open the injectors. You need a Noid light to see if the injectors are being sent a pulse. Regards Peter

I went and had another play with it today,

The injectors are pulsing live on one wire. and the other wire has 0.5 volts ???
(2 pin plug)

I did spot the sensor on the rail, well it has 2.
the one on the top has pipes that go to the diesel pump, 2 wire plug... one wire was a earth other was a 5v on ign live

then it started chucking down the rain, so left the other sensor for now
