1997 Ford KA - 1997 Ford ka elec cooling fan

1997 Ford KA - 1997 Ford ka elec cooling fan - mccree2003

The AA turned out to my daughters ford KA as it over heated in a shopping center. They tightend up a hose clip and declared the elec cooling fan U/S.

How do I check the cooling fan or its sensor . Its not seized up, spins freely.

any help would be great.

If its controlled by the engine ECU its not easy, if it has a sensor it will probably be on the thermostat housing and you should be able to check that just by joing the connections together which should make the fan run, if its faulty, otherwise you need to check for 12 volts on the fan connections when it should be running.

If its an ECU job you will need to get the fault codes read.
