Skoda Superb - DMF Failing....2.0 TDI - Pullers

Evening Guys,

Nearly two weeks ago I brought a 2007 Superb 2.0 TDi in immaculate condition with 35,000 miles on the clock. Top of the range, 1 owner from new. I thought id finally found a gem so I went for it.

I returned the car today as the park sensors had packed up and I had noticed that after my commute of 20 miles that upon tick over when Im outside of the car there is an incositant knocking sound.

The dealer has said they couldnt find it so I returned home (dealer is 25 miles away) and after I had reversed onto my drive the car sounding like there was in my wifes words...something metal going around a washing machine!! Thanks dear.....

I phoned the dealer staright away who is going to get their master tech to call me in the morning, Although I was told he had looked at it today and is rarely wrong!!!

My feeling is that after a bit of research its the DMF, I havent had the vibration but I do find the gearbox is quite stuborn and doesnt like to be rushed. Whats your advice ready for the morning? Do you think its the DMF to? I feel so disheartened with it now etc Im seriously thinking about asking for a refund ive only put about 500 miles on it.

HELP.....

Just going out for a walk, ill be back.

Thanks Guys

Be very careful - the 2.0 diesel Mk 1 Superb is prone to oil pump drive failure. 1.9 engines are unaffected. The consequences of this are usually fatal to the engine.

In any event, your purchase is clearly not fit for purpose so you should be covered by the Sale of Goods act. What kind of dealer sold it to you?

Hi 659,

Thanks for your reply.

It was a Skoda main dealer. Would you just ask for a refund under the above act or give them the opportunity to put it right?
